Empowering families to navigate their way through the Special Needs Labyrinth of EHCPs, Appeals and Tribunal.
My name is Zoë, and I am a SEND parent with lived experience of navigating the Special Needs Labyrinth. I am extremely passionate about supporting other families in securing the provision their child needs, from EHC Needs Assessment requests, to draft checks and working doucments, to lodging appeals and all the way through to tribunal.
Previously, I was a Head of Department at a Secondary mainstream school. I have a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), alongside several years' experience in mainstream settings.
With regard to SEND specific experience, I have been supporting families with the EHCP process since 2021 and began volunteering with SOS!SEN in the summer of 2024.
I have completed initial training through SOS!SEN, and receive conituning professional development (CPD) training through this role.
In addtion, I have completed IPSEA SEND Law and enjoy rreasearching and reading Case Law to support a specific situation.
At Special Needs Labyrinth, we have extensive experience providing EHCP Support to families, from their initial EHCP application through to reviewing the EHCP draft check and appealing the final EHCP.
We have assisted families in securing the essential support they need, which has included securing dedicated 1:1 support outlined in section F, gaining a place in a special needs base unit, naming an independent setting, and obtaining an EOTAS package.
Our SEND advice and SEND Document services ensure families navigate the complexities of the process with confidence.
We believe that a parent will always be a child's best advoate and we want to provide you with your possible options, explain any relevant legislation and case law and what this means in relation to your situation, and support you to secure the provision your child needs and deserves.
We can offer as little or a much support as you require. Whether you just need somone to look over your EHC Needs Assessment request, or you would like a full appeal grounds written out, do get in touch, as we are happy to help.
We provide a variety of standard services for our families, including:
